My approach to holistic wellness
Nutrition: Quite literally, we are what we eat. We are what we eat, digest, absorb and assimilate into our cells. I will focus on helping you develop and maintain a strong digestive system to keep the ‘core’ of a healthy body strong and functioning at optimal capacity. Evaluating food selection, addressing nutritional imbalances, allergies and digestive issues, and removing toxins are the initial steps to the healing process.
Holistic Approach: It doesn’t stop with food. Lifestyle, stress, exercise, sleep and other factors play a key role in our overall health, especially when living with a chronic illness. I will help identify and address the lifestyle factors that have the most impact on your day-to-day health and wellness.
Biochemical Uniqueness: Every person is biochemically distinct and has unique nutritional and lifestyle needs. This is especially true when dealing with chronic illness: each person's DNA is unique and his or her illness affects him or her in different ways. I will work with you to identify the diet and lifestyle changes that will work for YOU and YOUR illness.
Sustainability: My goal is to help you better manage your illness and symptoms through changes to your diet and lifestyle. However, these changes don’t mean anything if they are not sustainable for you. We will work together to determine which changes are the most realistic to adapt to and continue. Can’t give up coffee? (I haven’t been able to yet), we’ll focus on other changes that you CAN manage. Once the initial changes have become sustainable, we can focus on other opportunities to improve your health.
Collaboration: While I believe in a holistic approach to the body and mind, I have also found success using some conventional medical treatments. I can help work in conjunction with the treatments that your MD, specialist, naturopath, massage therapist, chiropractor, and psychologist, have recommended.
